The idea for integrated solar roofing tiles was inked on a cocktail napkin at 30,000 feet. During that plane ride, a vision for seamless solar roofing was born.

And now that vision is a reality. SRS Energy (formerly Solar Roofing Systems Inc.) was incorporated in 1997 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. At that time, the idea of embedding photovoltaics into roofing products was cost prohibitive. But persistence paid off when the concept’s potential was reevaluated years later. Since 2005, steady progress has positioned SRS Energy as a pioneer in the building integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) roofing market with internationally recognized strategic partners.
